If there has ever been a restaurant that is underrated then, this one is a good candidate. Food is delicious, portions are huge and prices are very fair. It is often so empty. Service is extremely friendly.

Cool people everywhere from all around the place.
I got some fresh naan and excellent service with my order.

We went there on a weekday dinner. The host was jolly and treated our daughter to a few goodies. The food was good and probably mild for my taste. But service could have been a little faster. We ordered a 2 person platter. It was great value for money.

We had lovely time. The good is amazing and friendly host. I recommend their kabuli pulao and shisk kabob :)

Large place run by what looks like a family. Their menu is good. Has a lot of options for meat eaters and vegetarians. The people are pleasant. The food was good. The pulao was very good. They could add some lighting and brighten up the place.

Ordered from here for the first time yesterday for a last minute get together with friends. Ordered a couple of the Mumtaz platters and one Mo platter, was pleasantly surprised, the description said enough for 8 people, but we all took seconds and there was plenty of left. The meats were very tender and guests loved the food. Would definitely order from here again.

  • *****

Definitely the best Afghan food I had. Very fresh and delicious! They took so time to cook it but quality food takes time to cook. Only problem is that when my girlfriend and I came around 5 pm, the restaurant was very hot and the A/C wasn’t on.

I really enjoyed the Lamb Chops!! Tender and Tasty! The owner was very friendly. I will definately go back again.

Food is good, but this restaurant is def not Afghani or Turkish. They serve Pakistani food. I'm not sure why they say Afgani, but otherwise their food was good

Great afghani food. Will go back if in the area again. Spicy chicken gyros was very good.

You have to try this place!! I ordered pick up a couple weeks ago and was very impressed. Portions were large and the flavors were phenomenal. I ordered saag panner and falafel curry. Highly recommend this place.

  • *****

The staff was very very friendly and they cooperated with my family and I. They have a wide selection of food and everything tasted good, the rice was actually not greasy like other restaurants offer. The overall look of the interior of the restaurant appeared to be very eye catching and lavish to me, it looks like a restaurant where weddings should take place. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic dishes, rich flavor. I don’t have the slightest idea what traditional Afghan food should taste like but this place is a gem. Very reasonable prices. BYOB

Apologies, as this is a very belated review for my 11/18/2017 lunch visit.

I was able to try a couple of new dishes at Rumi's and it was a very interesting lunch with some new flavors experienced.

For a starter, we ordered the Curry Falafel dish, and it was quite different than what I expected.

I was surprised to see a green Curry, which was thick, earthy tasting (come to think of it, the Curry's color and earthiness maybe due to Spinach), and with a hint of mild heat. What accompanied the heat was a distinct tangy lemon flavor which reminded me so much of the flavor of Greek lemon potatoes. Deliciously tart, the Curry was consumed pretty quickly by both of us.

Taste wise, the three Falafel patties were also a bit different than I expected, having a similar earthy and slight bitterness to the Curry; probably attributable to spinach in the Falafel mix. In fact, this Falafel Curry reminded me so much of an Indian dish I've eaten before in a Spinach fritter named Hara Bhara.

My sister started with Rumi's Aush soup and loved it. The soup had a robust tomato flavor, but the mix of herbs used (mint was very evident, but the other herbs weren't as discernable) made the soup's flavor very unique.

Her entree was the Chicken Lavand, which is stated as boneless chicken with onions, tomatoes, yogurt, and fresh herbs. She liked the dish, but did not love it, compared to the more desirable Butter Chicken. The chicken was tender and well flavored from the pairing of onions and tomatoes, and the sauce of yogurt and herbs was also good.

Rumi's continues to provide some unique flavors!

Ordered the manto for appetizer and the mixed platter for entree which I shared with two of my girlfriends. Meat was cooked just right and had great flavor. We didn't know if it would fill us up but we couldn't even finish our meal by the end of it. The pulao had great flavor too and I usually don't like raisins but it tasted really good with the rice. If I lived closer, I would definitely come more often.

I work in the Edison area and it is filled with an abundance of food options from a variety of cultures .... so, when I met up with my friend for dinner last night, this place stood out. It's located in an unassuming location and yet when you walk in you are immediately transported to another place - the Middle East! It was warm and inviting - the staff super nice and friendly. The menu was hands down fantastic ... endless food options for both the meat and vegetarian lovers. I started with hot green tea - trio of cold appetizer dips with the most unbelievable bread (and they gave me a refill!)!! I'm a samosa junkie, so of course I had that too. I've never had one prepared this way - half-moon shape like an empanada... it was crispy and tasty good!! My main was a tough choice - I wanted it all - but, I went with one of my favorites, falafel. Again, it was made unlike any falafel I've had and it was so yummy. Flavor profile took me through the streets of a bustling Afghani town - it was perfection in my mouth. It was simmered with spinach in a curry sauce that left me speechless. Loved it. It came with a side of rice, which was packed with flavor too. I didn't stay for dessert, so that is another reason I'll be back! This place is a gem. 5 stars across the board - ambience- food- price- staff- cleanliness- check it out!

Excellent food. We ordered takeout. Service was fast, staff was courteous and everything was very flavorful.

Out of all the places i've been to that serve chicken/lamb platters, this is my favorite by far. The food is absolutely amazing and filling. It tastes clean, and it doesn't sit with you in a bad way. Some other places that i've been have food that tastes good but leaves you feelings guilty and greasy. The food here definitely has a clean feel to it, but still satisfying. They also give free naan for the table. It is a dream come true. Definitely one of the best places I've been to.

  • *****

Amazing place!!!! The food is amazing! Spicy chicken gyro is the best. Also the service is amazing, they respect you so much and make sure that your satisfied.

You don't have to go to travel to the Far East to experience a culinary treat.
Great flavors that tickle your taste buds.

I had the chicken mixed platter which was very tasty. Two thumbs up

  • *****

Fresh and tasty food, quiet and spacious. Best Lamb shank aka Kabuli Palao in NJ

  • *****

Outside looks a little deceiving but the food was great and the people were very nice. You can bring your own bottle of wine if you wish.

  • *****

Edit - seems like the magic and fervor that was there when initially opened is no longer there. Unfortunately platter quality was not as flavorful last few times I went. Still rooting for them as I want real options for platters apart from 53 and 6th, but not sure if this place will go back to how it once was.

Very close to my place, living in New Brunswick and I finally have a place I can go for outstanding mixed platters with gyro and chicken - they have this special sauce in the spicy mixed gyro that makes it as good as one of the nice carts in NYC, and no, I'm not talking about 53 and 6th (which has gone downhill). The entrees also come with a afghani bread and salad and I literally didn't need to eat another meal until the next day. After the disappointment that is halal guys in east Brunswick, I'm feeling grateful for this place.

Nice and quiet atmosphere. Great food. Good prices. Friendly staff.

Amazing. It was great. Keep it up. Best ever.

Mo, Neyaz, and the family once again have created a warm and inviting space. In spite of the large size of the space, the seating and ambiance leave you feeling comfortable and relaxed. Having experienced many times Mo's earlier restaurant Yaldas in Horsham, PA I can assure you if you live within 2 hours drive it is well worth the trip to experience the amazing flavors and wonderful dishes served to you. I travel extensively throughout the US and have tried many Afghan food in many cities, none has topped a single meal I've had cooked by Mo or Neyaz. Treat yourself to this wonderful place and I assure you will return again and again, the only difference will be the second time you will bring more friends to experience it for themselves! Cheers!

  • *****

Not from the area so went there for the first time! Neyaz and his dad, who's the owner were super welcoming and the place was nice, tidy and big. Ordered Chapli kebab with Kabuli pulao which came out delicious. Absolutely recommended

Ordered takeout today from Rumi's Palace for the first time and the food was delicious and flavorful. I had the banjaan bouranee and mumtaz platter which also came with salad. I would recommend this place to others and definitely will order again.

Another belated review, this time for my 10/14/2017 meal at Rumi's Palace, but this time for dinner with my sister.

For appetizers we ordered a Bolani, Manto, and also a Aush soup.

I've eaten Bolani before, but Rumi's version was shaped differently as a flatbread that was stuffed with a mix of leeks, scallion, and potato. It looked to be pan fried, as the bread was just a little greasy, but the taste was excellent.

Bolani filling was delicious, full of leek and scallion flavor, and reminded me so much of a Shanghai scallion pancake.

Our next appetizer was the Manto (equivalent to Manti in Turkish cuisine) and wow what a delightful dish!

Each delicate dumpling was was silky smooth and pocketed a delish filling of ground lamb and other spices.

The yogurt/mint sauce paired with another tomato based sauce underneath was awesome, and I couldn't help scooping up the sauce by itself.

My entree was the Lamb Kabuli Pulao and it was a super tender lamb shank with the meat having a near fall off the bone doneness on top of a large portion of Kabuli Pulao (Afghan rice), which was so delicious. Notice in my photo the tip of the shank covered with foil to prevent unsightly scorching? That is nice attention to detail.

Not a fan of lamb, my sister scanned the chicken portion of the menu and selected the Butter Chicken; a dish I've only seen at Indian restaurants.

Kindly enough she gave me a nice portion of it to taste and it was scrumptious.

There was several large chicken pieces of moist dark and white meat, all coated in a luxurious sauce that was slightly thick, very rich, and containing interesting flavors like tomato, garlic, chillies, garam masala, and several other I could not identify.

Spooning the sauce over the Kabuli Pulao was a great combination, but be warned it will hard not to eat the entire portion of Pulao.

Finally, I want to add how nice the staff and owner were at Rumi's.

When I went to pay my bill, I saw the chef cooking what appeared to be rice pudding and I asked the chef it was Firnee (Afghan rice pudding). One of the owners was so surprised I knew what the dish was, and asked me to sample a dish they've been working on which was a Afghan sweet bread which was topped with what appeared to be black sesame seeds (I later searched and found it's name as "Roht" bread).

Rumi's is quickly becoming one of my favorite Afghan restaurants!

  • *****

We are very impressed with both the food and the service at Rumi's. We went for a late lunch but don't understand why there were no other customers. This place is a hidden gem off of Route 1.

Delicious falafal and gyro. Scrumptious baklava. Exceedingly reasonable prices. Comfortable atmosphere. Nicely decorated.

We highly recommend you give this place a try!

  • *****

Amazing food! They are generous with their portions and it's inexpensive. The owner and his son are very nice people. The inside of the restaurant is cute/fun middle eastern style. I highly recommend the falafel, chicken kabuli pulao, chicken shish cubes and chicken biryani. Everything is very flavorful. The naan is baked fresh and is addicting. I highly recommend this place. I got my coworkers hooked on it too.

Note this a review for my 9/10/2017 dining experience at Rumi's Palace.

My second visit to Rumi's Palace and I'm happy to say again that the food was excellent.

My sister and I started with the Falafel plate and it was a mixed experience.

While the Falafels were good, they were nothing special. The hummus was okay but tasted like store-bought hummus. However, the other dip on the plate (looked like Acili Ezme, another appetizer Rumi's offers) was really tasty, adding both heat and spice.

    - For my main dish I chose the Lamb Chapli Kabab entree, and I was rewarded with three large patties of delicious ground lamb sitting on top of Rumi's scrumptious Kabuli Pulao.

Each Chapli patty was juicy and full of meaty lamb goodness, with just enough spices to enhance the lamb flavor. I tasted staple seasonings like coriander, cumin, and red chili flakes (though I'm sure more were use).

I particularly liked the nice crisp char on the Chapli's surface, and when I took a bite, the inside was ever so delightfully crumbly.

Like before, the Kabuli Pulao was delicious with sweet glistening carrots and plump sweet raisins.

    - My sister selected the Chicken Karahi and she loved the dish as it was such a comforting homey dish.

Chicken Karahi and Kabuli Pulao were served on respective plates, which allowed her to portion out the Karahi with the rice.

Chicken was very moist and had delicious flavors from garlic, ginger, green peppers, tomatoes, and other spices (after sampling a good portion, I would say tumeric and red pepper). This ingredient combination was so much like a Chinese dish, leading to that comforting feeling mentioned above.

I'll be honest, location threw me off a little. Food, however blew me away. We started off with the Banjan Bouranee and the Aushak. The Banjan Bouranee is grilled eggplant and peppers topped off with a yogurt mint sauce. Both vegetables were grilled al dente with a light smoky flavor that enhanced the entire dish. The Aushak which is a scallion filled dumpling was wonderfully flavored. The tomato and yogurt sauce balanced it perfectly. For my entree I had the Chicken Mix Platter. They give you a choice of white rice or the Kabuli Pulao. I chose the Kabuli Pulao which is a steamed rice with raisins and carrots. The rice was absolutely delicious with a hint of cloves. The chicken platter consists of a chapli kebab, seekh kebab, and a shish kebab. All were wonderfully seasoned and most important not dry or overcooked. I highly recommend this place. Give them a try.

Delicious food. The butter chicken and the chicken korma were amazing. Great flavors.

Note this review is for my 07/08/2017 Rumi's Palace visit.

I love pleasant surprises and Rumi's Palace has delivered with a very tasty interpretation of one of favorite cuisines in Afghani food!

Rumi's Palace is nestled in a totally obscure small shopping complex off of the busy State Route 1, but as nondescript as the location and restaurant were, the food was splendid.

Me and my sister started with two starters: Aushak and Banjan Bouranee.

    - Aushak dumplings had a silky smooth skin, and tucked inside was the mild tangy flavor of a scallion puree, balancing the more neutral dumpling skin.

The yogurt sauce with mint drizzled on top added richness and a herbal flavor from the mint. This was a simple looking dish, but offered quite a variety of flavors.

    - Onto the Banjan Bouranee which was especially special. One of the best eggplant dishes I've ever eaten; this should be a must try.

Eggplant was grilled perfectly to the point of having just enough bite and had a notable restrained grilled flavor; if you've eaten average or bad Babaganoush before, sometimes the flavor of grilled eggplant can be too smokey to the point of being acrid.

Green peppers offered some crunch and just a hint of heat, but then you get to the special delicious duo of tomato and yogurt sauces which foil each other and give you a bit of sweetness, tanginess, and richness.

For entrees I tried the Lamb Mix Platter and my sister ordered the the Chicken Mix Platter.

    - If you love lamb and it's gaminess, then the Lamb Mix Platter will satiate your cravings!

Chapli Kabab was awesome, like a juicy lamb fatty burger with just enough spices to mellow out the richness.

Lamb Shish was good, but a few pieces were a bit tough.

Kofta Kebab was excellent and on par with some of the best Kofta Kebabs I've eaten from Middle Eastern restaurants in NYC and the Clifton/Paterson area.

    - Not forgetting another key component of the dish, the Kabuli Pulao (Afghan rice) was superb.

The julienned carrots were deliciously cooked; just soft enough but still keeping a nice bite. Coupled with the sweet raisins, both had a rich flavor and sheen on them as if slightly sauteed in olive oil or butter.

The rice itself was very good; having a softer texture and shorter grain than other Afghan Pulaos I've eaten, more similar to a Persian rice. Yummy in it's own right!

    - My sister enjoyed her Chicken Mix Platter (Chapli, Seekh, and Shish) with the best of the three varieties being the Shish.

Chicken Shish were so moist and tender with a nice light seasoning leaving the sweetness of the chicken to shine and on the outside was a nice slight grill char.

The Chapli was tasty too, seasoned well with a light heat and spice, but again not to the point of masking the chicken which was really tender too.

Seekh Kebab was like the Chapli but shaped in tubular shape of a kebab.

The only letdowns of the meal were the salad and bread.

    - Salad was okay, the veggies were fresh, but seemed to lack flavor.

    - The bread wasn't bad, but clearly not freshly made in-store, and instead of being an equally delicious contributor to the meal; the bread was just a vessel to scoop up the sauces.

Speaking of sauces, the trio of sauces served were all interesting.

    - The ubiquitous Afghan white sauce was just okay in my opinion.

Having more of a tartness versus richness, the flavor was good, but not the best I've eaten (hint hint Afghan Kebab & Grill makes the best white sauce!).

    - But the surprise were the other two sauces in the green cilantro sauce and chili sauce.

Chunky as opposed to being saucy, the cilantro sauce proved to the addictive one. Chock full of herbaceous roughly chopped cilantro, the other parts of the sauce I couldn't quite decipher, but there was a nice slight sweetness too.

Chili sauce was really interesting, as I swear it was a dead ringer for Sriracha, and thinking back it could very well have been Sriracha.

Try to disregard both the obscure location and drab decor, and enjoy the food!

Very delicious food after all the afghani restaurants I have tried so far till today Rumi's just went on top of the list. Very friendly staff.

I got the chicken gyro for take-out and it was amazing! Savory, spicy, and a huge portion relative to the price. I devoured all I could eat and there's still tons left for lunch tomorrow. I went late so there was nobody else there and I got to chat with the family (owners). Very nice people... I'm grateful they've brought their native cuisine to Edison.

This place does an outstanding job in perfecting their dishes! I have been meaning to give this place a try for weeks and I'm so satisfied I did. The boyfriend and I walked in here around noon on a weekday where they were just opening up. We were the first customers here which kind of made me nervous but the boyfriend insisted I would be content. As everyone who knows me I'm a sucker for kebabs and rice..so I was willing to give this place a shot. There were two employees at the time (the man who took our order and the wonderful Afghan chef in the back). There was about a 25min wait but I let the minutes roll by as I had no idea how impressed I was gonna be. Lo and behold we finally get our food (take out) and I dive right in. The yogurt was the BEST I've ever tasted...it was definitely homemade and something I never tasted before...I only wish they packed more!! (Definitely asking for more next time) I ordered the lamb shish cubes and it came with a side of rice (a large portion) and the lamb was the star of the show! The lamb was so tender and didn't get dry like other places do...I was beyond surprised. I got full and ended up leaving half of it as leftovers for later. I warmed it up in the microwave later on that evening and it was STILL juicy and tender...I'm sorry but I will try not to cry. An individual who can perfect meat without it drying up and being hard and brittle, is the closest I'll ever get to heaven! I can't wait to go back and order more stuff...bless my boyfriend for telling me about this place! I only wish they could give me a platter of meat to take home!

I ordered delivery from in a Friday night. I ordered the spicy mixed platter for 2, the appetizer sampler and the samosas. I love Afghan food and I am always happy to try new spots. The friend I was with had never had Afghan food before. I placed the order at 8:20 and received a notice that the food would arrive by 9:07. The food was delivered at 8:50. I couldn't believe it. Delivery in under a half hour on a Friday night is awesome!!!

The food - the samosas were very good (6 for 5 dollars). The appetizer sampler was yummy but their hummus was the real star - I'm picky about hummus and it was perfectly creamy and delicious. The meat platter was HUGE. I really couldn't believe how much they gave you for $30 bucks. I agree with the review that did that the food was remarkably priced for a $$ restaurant. Usually kebab platters give you 3 different types of meat for one person - this platter came in a serving tin and had 3 types of chicken and 3 types of lamb all in what I consider to be double portion sizes. My friend and I were both starving and can really eat and we only got about halfway through. Add in the fact that the Kabuli rice was beyond delicious (probably the best I've had) - huge plump raisins and tons of sliced, roasted carrots - and the spicy lamb actually had a nice kick to it and I will most definitely be ordering from them again.

I normally post pics but we tore into so fast, I didn't get a chance to take any! I will absolutely and most definitely be ordering from them again.

Great place! Love the juicy kebobs and authentic food. Well priced and friendly staff. I'd definitely come back and/or get takeout.

Absoultely love Rumis Palace! The same owner that use to be at Khanadhar grill is here now and my god the perfection. I always order there chicken spicy gyro and it's made FRESH with NO SMELL in the meat. So happy they opened this spot by far the best authentic afghan food you'll find in the tri state.

  • *****

For a two dollar sign ($$) place, the dishes here are not actually that expensive. The dishes are actually more comparable to places with one dollar sign ($) on Yelp. The people are very nice, the place is very spacey. When I went, there was a kid's show playing on one of the TV screens, which I thought was particularly weird, but I didn't find it distracting from the dining experience. Their fresh bread and their meal is delicious. I've had their chapli chicken and there's so much food for the price and the food is delicious. The staff is also super nice and friendly.

  • *****

The food was delicious. The service was wonderful.

There's something very special about this place. I came in late one night after a long day at work. They were nearly closing and made me feel so welcomed to come in and order. It's family owned and that warm feeling comes through. Naz, the owner's son was very friendly. They have a stage for live music and perhaps belly dancers. So how was the food? I ordered the Lamb Chapli Kabab (ground lamb with spices), when I got it home it was still hot, fresh, and so delicious. I can't wait to frequent this place and stay tuned for live music on the stage. Definitely worth checking out. The warm, relaxed, friendly vibe loves up to its name.

  • *****

Went here on a Friday night and were greeted by the friendly staff. My husband and I got the Mixed Chicken Platter to share which was more then enough for us. It came with the kabuli pulao which was dry and not as flavorful. The chicken kabob was a bit overcooked but still good. Our favorite was the chicken chapli kabob which was the most flavorful and cooked just right. We also ordered the Bolani which was bread stuffed with potatoes and spices. Its a nice appetizer to have if you're hungry. They also offered complimentary Afghan bread with white dipping sauce.

There was surprisingly no one else there on a Friday night. I guess most people just order carry out which we will do next time since they take forever to bring out the food.

  • *****

    Delicious food, great staff.

With so many other places in the area, this is by far the best for Afghan food. Even if you don't like, or have no idea what traditional Afghan food is still give this place a try. They happily explain to you what items are if you are not sure.

Get the Hot & Spicy Mixed Gyro Platter over right. If you don't like Hot and Spicy, get the regular Mixed Gyro Platter over rice.

The Lamb Gyro meat is perfectly seasoned and unlike most other places, the seasoning does NOT overpower the flavor of the lamb.

The Chicken is perfectly cooked and marinated. The BBQ Chicken Cubes or Chicken Cube Shish are amazing.

The rice is flavorful without being to fragrant which is a hard thing to balance.

I keep wanting to try other items on the menu but the Mixed Gyro is so good I just automatically order it without thinking.

  • *****

This a family owned buisness with the most delicious mixed chicken and lamb gyro platter I've had yet. I've been to othe Afghani restaurants in the area, and this one is the best. Can't wait to try more off the menu. Yum.

Best Afghan food in New Jersey, found this place in my last month at NJ and ensured I got their mixed platter every week.

Location is off US 1 but spacious with great hosts.

A nice family run restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious and had a home-made feel to it. Manto & Aushak dumplings was full of flavor. Loved their kabuli pulao and lamb & chicken kebab options in Shahi mixed platter.
I wish I could try narengi pulao but they had run out of it. They can definitely improve on decor and dessert menu.

This place is awoooooossssooommmmmm, I love this place. We ordered hot and spicy chicken with Afghani rice with salad and chai. Boy oh boy the tenderness of chicken and the rice was out of this world. $10 price for food and 1.50 for chai (tea) food was enough to feed me and some left over. This is my new place to go

First time here, and unless you're from the neighborhood, it's easy to miss. Tucked into a small shopping center on the part of Woodbridge Ave that is pretty much an exit ramp from Rt. 1 South. That might explain the nearly empty tables on a Saturday night. The food was great, served in HUGE portions, and reasonably priced. They really deserve to be discovered by more people.

I ordered the Manto dumplings as an appetizer. Generous portion, tasty, could have done without the extra oregano on top.

I also ordered the Lamb Kabuli Pulao as an entree. A huge portion of the spiced rice with carrot and raisins accompanied a perfectly braised lamb shank. They were a little heavy-handed with the cloves in the rice, but not overwhelmingly so. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and delish.

Hope they gain a following soon.

A must stop for lovers off savory food. Our appetizer was a delicious lamb dumpling with a tomato based lentil sauce. There were three of us and we ate lamb chops kebabs and Korma Everything was flavorful but the Korma picture below was excellent. Rhrice qwith carrots and savory raisins was dwlicious. We will return but it will be hard to order other dishes because I want to eat tonight's meal again.

I ordered a spicy mixed platter with kabuli pulao to go. I had someone pick it up for me and they had a baby in the car so I asked the person at the restaurant if they would walk it to the car n they said they would which was awesome!!
    Now the food.
It comes with a salad n Afghani bread.
The mix platter has a lot of meat. The chicken and lamb was juicy and flavorful. The Kabuli pulao was also very tasty with sliced carrots n raisins. I asked for extra white sauce in the side n it was neatly packed in the bag.
Overall great experience. Want to dine in person and try their lamb chops.

Excellent Afghani food. The chicken chapali kebabs and kabuli pulao is excellent. Also lamb chops were very good. Just opened a month back so not much crowd but very good service and ambience.

Best dinner this side of the Hindu Kush. Wonderful samosas for an appetizer, great kabuli chicken and rice for entree. Elegant bread and lovely dessert. Highly recommended Highland Park Afghan restaurant.

I love this place! My family and I have already been here 4 times since it's opened. The food is delicious and the portions are great from what I've had so far. I love the Lamb Kufta Kabab and the Chicken Sambosas! My family also really enjoyed the Lamb Chops. The entrees came with a choice of kabouli pulao or white rice. We always get the pulao which is delicious (you can ask for it without the raisins and carrots if you like!) Haven't had a chance to sit in, but the restaurant is really nice inside. Definitely recommend!

Excellent new Afghan Restaurant. I recommend the grilled eggplant appetizer, with tomatoes and peppers in an amazing sauce, with tender eggplant. Also the grilled flounder had very subtle spices and cooked just right. Half chicken Kabuli Palao was also good. The entrees came with a really nice light salad with great dressing. Large portions, friendly owner, good service.

New spot in the area. Fairly large, portions were good. Had the chicken platter and the mantoo both were decent. Looses a star cause I felt it was a bit slow but the food was good and the service was attentive.

    FLAVORFUL Afghani food.
I ordered some food for pick up from them this week. Food was pretty good. Flavorful and fresh. We got Mumtaz platter which which came with lots of spiced rice, some salad, and bread. It was very enough for two people!
The guy on the phone was polite and helpful as well!
Pricing is fine, too, for what you get!
